Wood Art

Nyawa Kedua is our range of reclaimed wood wall art. “Nyawa Kedua” means Second Life. This project relies on recycling and upcycling processes, like a cry against waste, over-consumption but also lack of interest in our heritage.

Our different wooden art pieces draw attention to the beauty of what surrounds us, but which we no longer see. By using reclaimed wood, mostly originating from abandoned and torn-down houses, our creations are a hymn to the raw beauty of materials. Through these creations, we try to awaken awareness of the importance of preserving our architectural heritage in Melaka.

We don’t add any color. We work from the material as we find it. Our creative process only relies on cutting and polishing. We also add a layer of varnish for the long-term protection of the wood.
